Upper arm workout

Longing to flaunt your arms and shoulders? These three exercises are guaranteed to make a difference

1. Bicep curl: Buy a resistance tube. It's like a giant elastic band with handles and costs between £7 and £12. Stand in the middle of the band, holding the handles down by your side, with your feet together. Keeping your elbows close to your waist, curl your hands towards your shoulders. Lower hands, and then repeat 10-15 times. Do two to four sets. You can vary this by alternating arms.

2. Forward raise: Stand as shown in photo; hold the handles in front of your thighs. Lift your right arm parallel to the floor, and then lower back to starting position. Repeat 10-12 times. Repeat with your right foot on the tube and your left arm.

3. Upright row: Stand in the middle of the resistance tube with your feet together. Hold the handles in front of your thighs. Raise your hands to under your chin, elbows leading, in a rowing motion, keeping your body still, knees slightly bent and stomach pulled in. Repeat 10-15 times. Do two to four sets. This works wonders for the shoulders.
